About Me
I’m Doone Hamilton, and my journey has been anything but conventional. Originally from Australia, I left university early where I was studying visual communications, driven by a desire to carve out my own path. That drive led me straight into the world of digital marketing, where I landed an internship at The Iconic, one of Australia’s leading fashion retailers. I threw myself into building their early social media strategy, jokingly calling myself a “professional Facebooker” back then. That hands-on experience became the foundation of my deep love for ecommerce and brand building.
Over the years, my work took me across the globe. I lived and worked in London, Barcelona, and Paris, expanding my skills across international markets, learning about different consumer behaviors, and refining my approach to global brand growth. My career later brought me into senior marketing roles at companies like Snapchat and IMG, where I sharpened my expertise in partnerships, growth strategy, and digital campaigns.
In 2018, I launched Kincs, a jewellery brand inspired by my grandmother’s heirloom pieces. I wanted to create high-impact, vintage-inspired designs for women who wanted to wear something that felt bold and empowering. From manufacturing and design to online sales, I personally managed every piece of the business. What started from my bedroom quickly grew into a thriving brand, featured in Vogue, Refinery29, Who What Wear, and InStyle, with customers around the world.

After two intense years running Kincs, I found myself craving a new type of creative fulfillment. In late 2019, I began casually recording video calls with fellow founders, simply talking about the highs and lows of building businesses. What started as informal chats soon evolved into Female Startup Club, a podcast focused on sharing real, actionable insights from successful female entrepreneurs. When the pandemic hit in 2020, the show gained rapid momentum, resonating with women around the world who were eager to hear authentic stories from women building businesses just like them.
By 2021, Female Startup Club had grown far beyond a podcast. It became a full media brand with over 700 episodes, millions of downloads, and a community of over 130,000 founders and aspiring entrepreneurs. Along the way, I expanded our offerings into educational programs, events, a thriving newsletter, and a powerful global community committed to supporting female founders with actionable tools and knowledge.
Throughout this journey, I’ve been fortunate to receive recognition for my work. I was named Young Australian of the Year (UK), invited to Buckingham Palace, and acknowledged by the World Economic Forum for my contributions to women’s entrepreneurship. I also became the first donor to UNSW Sydney’s women’s entrepreneurship program – a personal milestone that means a great deal to me.
In 2023, I took on a new challenge, launching Groopie as part of the Techstars accelerator. Groopie empowers subject-matter experts to monetize their expertise through interactive group communities. It’s still early days, but I’m passionate about exploring new ways to blend content, community, and commerce into meaningful, scalable businesses.
Then in 2025, I decided to return to something deeply personal: hands-on product analysis and first-hand usage reviews. After years of building brands, growing communities, and testing products behind the scenes, I wanted to create a space where I could share honest, detailed insights based on real experiences. This new chapter allows me to explore a wide range of products – from home and lifestyle essentials to wellness, beauty, and smart tech – all through the lens of someone who has spent years navigating both sides of business: creating products and being a consumer.
